Finkel Bows

The tradition of the Finkel-Weidhaas bows started in the 19th century with Ewald Weidhaas (1869 – 1939). His son Paul worked for V. Fetique in Paris, in Leipzig with L.C.A Bausch and Möller in Amsterdam and took over his father's workshop. Shortly after the end of World War II, Siegfried Finkel started an apprenticeship with his father- in- law and his son, Johannes (b.1947) was the fourth generation of the business.

After his apprenticeship Johannes worked with J. & A. Beare in London, Hans Weisshaar in Los Angeles and in Philadelphia with  William Moennig & Son. In 1974 he returned to Switzerland  and worked with his father together in the Bogenwerkstätte. After his father's retirement Johannes took over the business.
